Kevin was born in San Francisco, keeping the family tradition, even though the family had just moved to Hayward the month before his birth. When he was two, the family moved to Castro Valley, where he went to the public schools through high school.
As a child, Kevin was very active and spent as much time outside as possible – riding bikes, skateboarding, playing football or baseball at the neighborhood park, or just playing. He enjoyed team sports, soccer, and baseball, and in high school, he lettered in Track and Cross Country. Running the distance seemed to suit him.
Kevin spent several high school summers at Westminster Woods Christian Camp as a volunteer and then part of the staff. That was part of the reason he chose Sonoma State for his college. He majored in Theater Arts. He found a job on campus as a student painter and stayed in the area each summer. After graduation, he became a professional painter for a contractor until a position as painter opened for him at Sonoma State. He is now a supervising painter.
Kevin met his wife, Katie, at Sonoma State. After two children, they divorced in 2011.
Kevin’s sport of choice was skateboarding. He skateboarded to college classes and then enjoyed the local skate parks and parking lots.
Since college days, Kevin has been involved in tennis, participating in several tennis teams in the Santa Rosa area. He is also working on his fourth degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Now that his children are in high school and college, Kevin has been enjoying his Maine Coon cats and their kittens in his Santa Rosa home. He has now started his own cattery called Sonoma Maines: a Maine Coon cattery.
